Talking Home WiFi at #WGCLON, October 29 – November 1!
We’ve been catching wind of two interesting trends as of late:
- Massive growth and activity in operator-managed home WiFi market worldwide
- Renewed interest in WiFi convergence: the bringing together of WiFi and cellular networks to add capacity across an operator’s footprint
But what do they have to do with one another? While, at first glance, these concepts might seem totally unrelated, they’re actually have more of a connection than you’d think. SPOILER ALERT: Both require the ability to deliver a high quality of experience on WiFi through active management. With that, operators can transform WiFi from a nice-to-have asset to a valuable one.
Wondering how exactly? Todd Mersch (EVP of Sales & Marketing, Fon US) is going to be explaining the very real connection between these two trends and how operators can capture the opportunity at the Wireless Broadband Alliance’s Wireless Global Congress in London on October 31st. His presentation “Delivering Reliable, High-Performance WiFi for Home and Hotspots” will define the market opportunity, operator strategies for tackling these opportunities, and the interconnection between operator-managed home WiFi and convergence.
In addition to Todd’s presentation, another member of the team, Jose Pablo Salvador (Senior Technology Innovation Engineer), will be in London for the event to participate in the In-home Roundtable discussion on November 1st. This roundtable will tackle some of the technical challenges facing operators attempting to leverage WiFi as a strategic in-home service offering. He will be joined by fellow participants from Liberty Global, CableLabs, and Intel.
If you haven’t registered for the event already, you can do so here. And while you’re at it, schedule a meeting with Todd and/or Jose Pablo by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
